Commodore Rebecca Hughes called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

Announcements included Howard Crowell has a kite sailer for sale,

Fred beat Howard (Lewis) in the last single handed race and Howard Lewis reminded all of the Mitchell Bay International Race October 2-3.

 

Rebecca noted our Treasurer was not able to attend but reported a balance of $10,900 in the bank.

 

She also announced that the Crab Feed at Rosario would be on Friday night, September 24th. A bus to Eastsound will be available on Saturday, but folks need to let Lopez Yacht club know so they can make the arrangements. Mooring will be available for a flat fee of $35 per night. Sign up now and get slip assignment when you arrive on VHF channel 77A.

 

Brenda Pound thanked Susie Hendrix, Shireene Hale, and Marie Di Christini  (sp?) for kitchen duty and table decorations.

 

Vice Commodore Ed Hale introduced Abbey Finney of the Sailing Foundation. Abbey briefly described the Foundation’s support of youth sailing on San Juan Island and invited all to a fundraising dinner and movie at the Yacht Club, Monday, September 20th.

 

Ed also introduced new member Bill Severson. Bill talked about his work with the Red Cross and asked for members to consider volunteering to provide water transport in case of an emergency.

 

The meeting adjourned at approximately 8:15 p.m.
