Once again the East Side Scallywags untied the lines for a fun race on Friday afternoon, June 1st.
The finish of this race taught us amateurs something we did not know, luckily the danger zone was passed unscathed. Here’s the scoop…
Arnie and John H. led the race in Borr until the last minute when they wisely tacked to avoid Dumbshit Rock at the entrance to Ship Yard Cove. John S at the tiller in Odin held his course unaware of the lurking danger to win the race.
Local knowledge is the key to avoiding dangerous areas but does it win races? Note to self: investigate this area on a low tide and learn from the area experts.
